Denise grew up in the suburbs outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, spending much of her youth development running with the Ambler Olympic Club, traveling the country competing in cross country and track and field, making lifelong friendships and developing a commitment to dedication, perseverance and working to achieve dreams. Denise attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where she ran varsity cross country and track and field during her college years, and earned a B.A. in Economics and Pre-Med. After college, Denise spent a few years in Athens, Georgia, working for an engineering and fabrication firm and then attending the University of Georgia School of Law and served as an editor on the Georgia International Law Journal. Denise met her husband, Jeff, their first semester of law school, were married upon graduation, practiced law in Georgia with Jeff’s father, a tenacious trial attorney. In January 1996, they moved to Durango which has been home ever since. They have raised a son and daughter in the Durango community and are grateful for being part of the wonderful Durango village. In her spare time, Denise enjoys running, camping, biking, hiking, traveling, cooking and spending time with her family, friends and poodles, Ponga and Whoa Nelly.
